Plastics: Sorting out the Confusion

Plastic recycling can feel complicated—but WRG makes it simple. We accept all plastics #1–7, and we’ve partnered with the Hefty ReNew Program to expand what’s possible.

✨ Soft, pliable plastics (through Hefty ReNew placed in the Orange Bags):

  • Grocery bags & plastic film

  • Styrofoam

  • Plastic cutlery

  • Wrappers & other soft plastics

♻️ Rigid plastics (loose in the bin):

  • Bottles (lids loosened, but still on)

  • Jugs & tubs

  • Clamshell containers

  • Yogurt & sour cream cups

Recycling tips:

  • Keep items free of food residue.

  • Make sure they’re clean and dry.

  • No bagging—rigid plastics go loose into the bin.
